Being the sole animal rescue organisation in Pondicherry with hospital and rescue centre, we receive an average of 15-20 rescue requests daily from various areas, even from other districts. The demand is relentless and our team has been tirelessly working to rescue and admit as many animals as possible.
The difficulties in running an animal rescue organisation are immense, and many may not fully comprehend the daily struggles we face.
We are forced to prioritise on- spot treatments with the support of community care takers and outpatient care as the kennel space is unavailable. New admissions must wait until our current residents find their forever homes of recovery fully to be released. We require at least 3 more staff ( animal helpers and handlers) to help organize rescues, treatments and other day to day activities.
Our commitment to the welfare of strays has never wavered even with limited resources and manpower, but we find ourselves in a difficult position. Unfortunately, our kennels are now bursting at the seams, exceeding their maximum capacity.
It’s a painful juggling act of prioritises, where every life matters.!
We request everyone’s understanding and kindness support in doing on-spot treatment with cases that can be treated on the spot, helping in rescues and transportation of animals, bringing animals as outpatients for treatment etc till the situation gets better.
