Wonderful recovery of rescued cat with cracked face- Stray cat rescue and treatment

We are very much happy to share the update of the rescued cat- Lucky. Lucky was rescued from Navarkulam, Pondicherry when Bark India rescue team was coming back after a dog rescue. He was sitting on the side of the street with 2/3 of his face was broken and full of live maggots inside.

His condition was really desperate that  made the entire team doubtful about a recovery. The horrible wound was very much visible after removing the maggots and cleaning the wound. Lucky literally had no face and his right eye was popped out and eaten by maggots.

Within some days, he started making progress in health and wound started healing. Lucky was very friendly ,calm in behaviour and preferred himself to stay inside his treatment cage though he was free to roam around.

Once he became healthy, he got sterilised and vaccinated. Thanks to Dr.Gurunathan and team for the treatment and medical advice. Lucky was shifted to foster care for 3 months where he made further progress.

Much thanks to Ms Jaya Toker, Ms Celine Bignone , Mr Harish Kumar, Mr Gautham Iyyanar, Ms Kalai ADY, Ms Elizabeth Budd, Ms Pooja, Mr George TM and Ms Lali George for your monetary donations for Lucky’s treatment.Your donations helped him very much to get special food and care.

Though one eyed, he is very active, healthy and playful. Special Thanks to our volunteer Mr. Rohit Sankar who rescued Lucky with our team.
