Rescue of one eyed street dog in maggot wound- Veterinary hospital in Pondicherry

Second dog rescue of the week with maggot wound on eye. This poor dog’s one eye was severely affected with live maggots who literally ate his eye. Found and rescued by Mr Ramesh from Anna Salai, Puducherry, the German Shepherd- cross dog is getting the wound healed with medical treatment at Bark India veterinary hospital. Except the wound, the dog is healthy and friendly.

.

Even a tiny wound can be a big wound of maggots in a very few hours. Dogs usually lick their wounds and injuries, but they can not lick and keep the wound out of maggots, when the wound is out of their tongue,. The flies who start laying egg on the wound can be larvae and soon become maggots if proper care is not given.

We hope for his speedy recovery. Thanks to our veterinary doctor for his care and medical treatment.
