Animal welfare School Awareness in Pondicherry-Bark India Charitable Trust

Believing today’s children would make a better tomorrow, we are glad to restart our school awareness campaingns again in Pondicherry to educate the children on animal welfare. Educating and creating awareness among children is inevitable and unavoidable matter to do for tomorrow’s human-animal friendly society, where humans and animals would co-exist in a sound environment and to reduce human-animal conflicts.

In the light of increasing rabies cases, fear of rabies and dog bites, mostly children are the victims of such cases and ignorance. Lighting their paths to understand animals in a better way would definitely change their views and perspectives.

An animal welfare awareness session was conducted by Bark India Charitable Trust at Government Primary School,Navarkulam, Pondicherry on 6th November,2022. The session was attended by 70 students of standard 4th and 5th in  which topics like ‘dos and don’ts with animals, how to avoid dog bite, rabies and its prevention, pet care and treatment, how to deal with sick animals, why to adopt an animal, basic animal behaviour ‘ etc have been addressed.

The interactive sessions with students gave them opportunity to ask their doubts and clarify. We  are looking forward to conduct more student awareness programmes in different schools soon , for a better and harmonious tomorrow. Many thanks to the headmistress, teachers and staff for your immense support to the programme.
